Alissa Coyne, OD, FAAO


Dr. Coyne received a Bachelor of Science degree in Bio-behavioral Health from Pennsylvania State University.  She attended the Pennsylvania College of Optometry where she received her degree of Doctor of Optometry in 2010.  In 2011 Dr. Coyne completed a one-year post-graduate residency in primary care and ocular disease at The Eye Institute in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania.  Dr. Coyne was appointed to the faculty of the Pennsylvania College of Optometry in 2012 and is currently an Assistant Professor.   Dr. Coyne is a Fellow of the American Academy of Optometry and is a diplomate of the American Board of Optometry.  She teaches at the Eye Institute of Salus University and is Ocular Pharmacology Coordinator and Lecturer in the Scholars Program as well as Clinical Problem Solving Coordinator and Facilitator. She is also course director for the Ophthalmic Lasers course. Dr. Coyne’s interests and experience include ocular disease and Emergency Eye Care as well as refractive and contact lens care.  She is a member of Association for Ocular Pharmacology and Therapeutics Women of Vision. Dr. Coyne has been a part of the professional staff at Mayfair Eye Associates since January 2015.

G. Richard Bennett, M.S., OD, FAAO


Dr. Bennett is a graduate of Allegheny College, Clarion University, and the Pennsylvania College of Optometry.  After receiving his Doctor of Optometry degree, he completed a Residency in Primary Care at the Eye Institute of the Pennsylvania College of Optometry.  Dr. Bennett was appointed to the faculty of the Pennsylvania College of Optometry in 1980 serving as an Attending Optometrist and later as Chief of a primary care module in the Eye Institute.  Currently Dr. Bennett is the Director of the Glaucoma Center of Excellence in the Eye Institute and is course director for Diagnosis and Management of the Glaucomas at the College.  He holds the rank of Professor of Optometry at the Pennsylvania College of Optometry of Salus University and Adjunct Associate Professor of Ophthalmology, Department of Ophthalmology at Drexel University School of Medicine. Dr. Bennett has lectured extensively nationally and internationally in the area of medical and surgical management of glaucoma. Dr. Bennett is a principal investigator of the Ocular Hypertensive Treatment Study (OHTS), a multi-center clinical glaucoma trial funded by the National Eye Institute (NEI) of the National Institutes of Health (NIH). Dr. Bennett maintains a private practice in Philadelphia, Pa.
